Polypeptide fraction from bovine prostate, registered in Russia for chronic prostatitis and post-surgical recovery. One of the earliest Khavinson cytomedins to be commercialized and the one with the most consistent Russian clinical use.

Polypeptide fraction from bovine prostate (Cytomed production). Mechanism combines anti-inflammatory and tissue-specific regenerative effects: (1) chronic abacterial prostatitis treatment — 35 men (mean age 31.3±4.3y) with elevated sperm DNA fragmentation, Prostatilen® AC reduces DNA fragmentation, improves reproductive function at 1, 2, 3 months post-treatment (Borovets-Rybalov-Gorbachev-Al-Shukri-Levina 2018); (2) acute cystitis — experimental 60 female rats with chemical cystitis (dimexide+o-xylene 3:1 bladder instillation), prostatilen suppositories effective (Al-Shukri-Gorbachev-Borovets 2009); (3) chronic prostatitis pathogenetic study — 82 Wistar male rats, prostatilen effective in prophylaxis (Gorbachev-Borovets-Rybalov-Tyurin 2020); (4) combination peptide therapy for male infertility — review covering Prostatilen + other peptides for urogenital infection-related infertility (Prokopiev-Abdrahmanov 2021). The mechanism is likely tissue-specific regenerative + anti-inflammatory — peptide bioregulator paradigm.
